Wanting 03:36
Excuse me sir Could I see that shirt in the window? It’s been a real long week It’s really speaking to me I need it to forget that He turned his back on me Me and my endless need Satisfaction guaranteed I don’t know what I did I don’t know what I said All I know is that Without him I’d rather be dead “Please come back to me!” I screamed at him in the street But he turned his head And Kept rhythm with his feet Excuse me sir I couldn't help but notice You from across the bar Is there something happening between us? Maybe I could help you take What it is you really see in me Me and my endless need Satisfaction guaranteed Buy me another drink Tell me another joke I need to convince myself Before you take off my coat Then, take me to your place Ignore the look on my face But you’ve seen it a thousand times You’ve already made up your mind

Needing 04:15
Oh no here we go again I heard somebody throw something I think they came home drunk tonight Somebody’s looking for a fight I wish there was something I could do To keep these two from coming unglued Then again it shouldn't be up to me I wish that was something they could see Oh no is someone coming up the stairs I can’t show this time that I’m scared I’ll just lie down and pretend to be asleep Thank god I think it worked again I can’t wait until I’m 18 That’s the day I can finally be free I’m packing my bags I’m taking off They can’t say a word to me legally I better burn these pages in my journal I can’t risk them finding out Or I’ll just put these words in my pocket I’m running away come August “What’s this I found in your jeans? Went through the washing machine Hollow shells of their former selves? We gave you everything.”

Vow 04:30
Bored eyes never told me a lie Senseless times never settled right Give me all you ever made There’s no need for me to be saved Elbow deep in a broken spoke Take me off you digital notes I know what you’ll never perceive I know what it takes to leave Give and give, but you could never take What is yours with all the rules you've made I know how we’re falling out tonight I still love all your gentle lies Pull me in until I’m gone again Empty hands help me to begin Perfect shapes move around in my mind Concentrate, this is our last time

It’s funny to think All I had to do was look inside for you Oh I don’t know how I’m going to make it through this one A familiar feeling Tells me “come on now” Just to hold on But it’s not easy for me I’m my own worst enemy I know you've got enough Enough is enough Oh baby please You’re too old to tease Please just leave me alone If you've got nothing left Go on and bet What do you have to lose? Dusty old sidewalks Rituals of forgetting have finally left me There’s nothing for you here Old busted windows Empty cans of beer I’ve got nickels and dimes But I have no quarters for you to borrow I saw you through a window More times than you’ll know Tripped on your laces I scuffed up my face Please just leave me alone

about

This is the first physical release outside of CDR that i have done. It is on a cassette tape, released and distributed by Avocado Records. Each tape will have a digital download included.

I've been writing songs under the name Pelican Vision since about 2008. I originally had a band, and we played a bunch of songs that I wrote, and we recorded. They are still unreleased. These four songs on the ISOLATION EP were written from 2012 to late 2013. Santa Fe Avenue is the oldest song, then Vow, and then Wanting and Needing were written right before recording.

These songs took me a while to release. It was the first time i did most of the instrumentation myself. Also, i was recording these songs as i was finishing up my degree at cal state fullerton, and playing full time with Fugue. We had tours and other releases to handle, so unfortunately my part time job could only supply a limited amount of what i wanted to be doing with music.

I recorded guitar, drums, and vocals. It was a fun process. I basically recorded a guitar tracks to a click, had Madison send me the files, and then listened and wrote the drum parts to that click over the next month. After that, i went back into the studio to track the drums. Finally, Jordan wrote all the bass parts with one guitar track and drums in his ears. I finalized the songs with another guitar track.
